Photographer, Jennifer Gilmour, discovered a passion for photography as a Fine Art Student, and later completed Post Graduate work in Photography at University. Her images have been exhibited in galleries, most notably the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, Australia, as well as published in magazines. Commissions by magazines to provide the story behind the images enabled her to develop her journalistic skills and led to her being accepted as a member of the A.J.A. (Australian Journalists Association). She went on to set up a Photography and Journalism Course for the Gifted/Talented programme at one of Sydney's leading senior schools. Initially specialising in Fashion photography, her eye for detail, feel for light, and creative background worked to her advantage both in the studio or on location. A highlight was the opportunity to work in Studio 117, Milan, Italy. Her natural ability to put people at ease, sense of style, and experience with make-up and hair, perfectly suited photographic assignments such as Public Relations, Corporate, Advertising, Events and Portraiture. For many years, Jennifer was also involved in the Dance world and over time she combined her love of dance with photography. However, it was the inspiration of artists, sculptors and photographers famous for their Nudes, that influenced her preference for Black and White Photography, and the development of her popular Boudoir work. A small sample of this work is shown, however, more images can be viewed upon request. Throughout her career, her keen interest and studies in Psychology have resulted in her now offering Photo-Therapy as an extension of her Portraiture and Boudoir work. Opportunities
to travel to many international locations throughout the years, experiencing
and capturing the plethora of exotic people, their cultures and diversity
of landscapes, is a final addition to her portfolio. |
